This day is all about understanding different abilities and different ways of communicating in the LNES community.
Each person has strengths and challenges and, on this day, students will participate in interactive games at four stations, each teaching them something new about each other's abilities and challenges (both visible and non-visible). It’s a fantastic way for everyone to learn more about each other. The more we understand about each other, the more we can be kind and relate to one another!
Parents, we need your help to make this day a success! You can volunteer to help organize and manage the activities at the stations. We will also provide all the information you need to help and to talk to your child about the event.
We're excited for you to join this community effort!
This program is a special part of our learning community. It's designed to help all of us – students, teachers, and families – learn more about the different kinds of abilities people have.
Just like snowflakes, no two people are exactly the same. Some of us might face challenges with moving around, seeing, hearing, or communicating in the usual ways, but that just means we find our own unique ways to succeed.
This program is not just about knowing these differences exist; is all about learning to understand and support each other, and showing our students that each of them belong!
Celebrate your child’s birthday, good grades, special achievement, or just because. With your donation, you can help build the LNES library and playground equipment with a new book or ball for all of our Aviators to enjoy! Your student’s name will be displayed on the Celebration Club wall near the LNES Library and will receive a special announcement during Friday Flag assembly (you chose the date) from Principal Meissner! A special plaque will be placed inside the book in recognition of your child, a star with their name on the Celebration Club wall, and the book will be presented Principal Meissner at Friday Flag! Your student will be the first to check out the book and once returned, the book will be placed into the LNES library for all Aviators to enjoy!
Celebration Balls: $25. You select a playground item from our list of approved items, make your donation, and a star with their name will be on put up on the Celebration Club wall. At the end of the first day, the item will be placed into the LNES playground equipment bin for all Aviators to use!
